I am a mineralogist and my field of interest developed in the crystal-chemistry of rock-forming minerals, mainly pyroxenes. In particular I studied, by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, both thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of order-disorder reactions.

For this project I am investigating the thermal expansion behaviour of natural minerals that frequently occur as inclusions in diamonds, and their synthetic analogues.

My main field of research is centered on the ab-initio simulation of structure and properties of crystalline materials, with particular reference to minerals.

For INDIMEDEA project I will mainly focus on the thermo-elastic properties of phases typically found as inclusions in diamonds (thermal expansion, bulk modulus, and their behaviour as function of both pressure and temperature).
